Less than a day after arriving back to Istanbul from his official visit to Indonesia, Ambassador Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, the #D8SG, attended the World Halal Summit & Expo in Istanbul this Saturday (25-Nov). The #D8 SecGen delivered remarks at the Summit, highlighting the vast potential of the halal industry that can and must be tapped by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and #D8. He suggested the two organizations to take the driving seat in developing global halal industry and make ‘halal’ as a global brand. The Halal Summit & Expo are organized by the The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. The #D8 and SMIIC have a cooperation MoU, which also covers development of halal industry.
