It behoves us to honour him and show our reverence, so let all minarets be illuminated, and let mevlids be recited in mosques, and the nation of sinners cry and wail and ask for his intercession, and let them occupy themselves with the recitation of blessings, praises, and benedictions. What Harun started, his son Mamun sought to complete. Mamun was a scholar in his own right, had studied medicine, Fiqh, logic and was a Hafiz e Qur’an. He sent delegations to Constantinople and the courts of Indian and Chinese princes asking them to send classical books and scholars. He encouraged the translators and gave them handsome rewards. Perhaps the story of this period is best told by the great men of the era. The first philosopher of Islam, al Kindi , worked at this time in Iraq. The celebrated mathematician al Khwarizmi worked at the court of Mamun. Al Khwarizmi is best known for the recurring method of solving mathematical problems, which is used even today and is called algorithms. He studied for a while in Baghdad and is also reported to have traveled to India. Al Khwarizmi invented the word algebra (from the Arabic word j-b-r, meaning to force, beat or multiply), introduced the Indian numeral system to the Muslim world (from where it traveled to Europe and became the “Arabic” numeral system), institutionalized the use of the decimal in mathematics and invented the empirical method (knowledge based on measurement) in astronomy. He wrote several books on geography and astronomy and cooperated in the measurement of the distance of an arc across the globe. The world celebrates the name of Al Khwarizmi to this day by using “algorithms” in every discipline of science and engineering. It was the intellectual explosion created at the time of Harun and Mamun that propelled science into the forefront of knowledge and made Islamic civilization the beacon of learning for five hundred years. The work done by the translation schools of Baghdad made possible the later works of the physician al Razi, historian al Masudi, the physician Abu Ali Sina , the physicist al Hazen, the historian al Baruni, the mathematician Omar Khayyam and the philosopher Ibn Rushd. The age of Harun and Mamun was also an age of contradictions. Indeed, no other period in Islamic history illustrates with such clarity the schizophrenic attitude of Muslims towards their own history, as does the age of Harun and Mamun. On the one hand, Muslims take pride in its accomplishments. On the other, they reject the values on which those achievements were based. Muslims exude great pride in the scientists and philosophers of the era, especially in their dialectic with the West. But they reject the intellectual foundation on which these scientists and philosophers based their work. Thus it was that the Muslim world came upon rational ideas, adopted them, experimented with them and finally threw them out. The historical lesson of the age of Harun and Mamun is that a fresh effort must be made to incorporate philosophy and science within the framework of Islamic civilization based on Tawhid.

MUHAMMED ALI, the best name of the world boxer, said, 'I asked Allah for wealth, he gave me Islam. Muhammad Ali: The first white leader to embrace me is Mr. Erbakan The legendary name of world boxing, Muhammad Ali, died at the age of 74 in the hospital where he was treated for respiratory disease. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun It was October of 1976. We were not born yet. Istanbul was experiencing one of its usual sea-scented autumns. However, the historical Sultan Ahmet Square was witnessing such an end for the first time. The square was so crowded that if you throw a needle, it would not fall to the ground. Thousands of people were waiting for two people to come out of the Blue Mosque with great excitement and enthusiasm. These were MSP Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan and the world's greatest boxer, Muhammed Ali Klay. This "man who flies like a butterfly and stings like a bee" became a Muslim, influenced by Malkom X, and changed his name from Cassius Marcellus to Muhammad Ali. It was the pride of all Muslims. Even after he became a Muslim, he attracted attention as an exemplary person with his behavior and lifestyle. By the way, it was a Turk who first taught Muhammad Ali to pray. He met while doing his master's degree in London, Prof. Nevzat Yalcintas. When this famous boxer landed at Yeşilköy Airport in October 1976, Necmettin Erbakan greeted him. When Erbakan and Muhammed Ali first embraced at the airport, thousands of people filling the Yeşilköy Airport made the square groan with "Mujahideen" slogans. The first place Erbakan and Muhammed Ali went after the airport was the Sultan Ahmet Mosque. The two of them performed the Friday prayer together, and together they opened their hands and prayed for the Muslims of the world. Muhammad Ali, later; “The first white leader to embrace me is Mr. Erbakan,” he said. May Allah treat him with his mercy. SOME NOTES ABOUT MUHAMMED ALI Muhammad Ali became the World Champion in 1964 at the age of 22, defeating Sony Liston. After this victory, he announced that he changed his religion and converted to Islam. If you want to watch this match https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nMlsT_3Nco He had to take a break from boxing, which he loved so much, from 1967 to 1970. "The Vietnamese did no harm to me so that I could fight them." He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of 10 thousand dollars for not going to the Vietnam War. When his license and passport were taken from him, he faced financial difficulties during the lawsuit and declared bankruptcy. Two days after returning from the 1960 Rome Olympics, he threw his gold medal into the Ohio River when he learned that a restaurant only served whites. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, another gold medal was awarded to him in place of this medal. He chose Islam as his religion and did not go to the Vietnam War. He expressed this situation as follows: "I have no problem with them." (I'I ain't got no quarrel with them Vietcong'). Because of this, his titles were confiscated and he was suspended from boxing. But he did not give up. During this time, he traveled to universities and talked about Islam. He had a close relationship with Malcolm X. He did productive work.

  • To the Muslim women,Hijab provides a sense of empowerment. It is a personal decision to dress modestly according to the command of a genderless Creator; to assert pride in self, and embrace one's faith openly, with independence and courageous conviction .
