Tramvaylar iki atla çekiliyor ama mesele Şişhane Yokuşu’na gelince iş değişiyor. Malum, yokuş sert, yük ağır. O yüzden Azapkapı’dan yokuş yukarı çıkacak her tramvaya ekstra atlar ekleniyor. Bu “takviye atlar” yokuşu çıkıp tramvay görevini tamamladıktan sonra ne oluyor?

İşte devreye Dingo giriyor.

Dingo, Azapkapı-Taksim hattında, Pera civarında bir yerde bir ahır işletiyor. Aslen Rum olan Dingo’nun ahırı, görevini tamamlayan yorgun atların dinlendiği yer. Gün boyu, tramvaydan çıkan atlar geliyor, dinleniyor, sonra yenileri gidiyor. Bir gelen bir giden… Atlar, görevliler, meraklılar, tembeller, işçiler derken ahır, adeta küçük bir terminal gibi. Hatta öyle bir hal alıyor ki, kim giriyor kim çıkıyor belli olmuyor.

İşte bu yüzden halk arasında bu ahıra bakıp şöyle denilmeye başlanıyor:
“Burası da Dingo’nun ahırı gibi olmuş!”

Zamanla bu söz, düzensizlik, keşmekeş ve kontrolsüz girip çıkmaların olduğu her yer için kullanılmaya başlanıyor.

Bugün bir odaya herkes kafasına göre girip,cikıyorsa ya da bir yer tam bir curcunaysa...
Aklımıza hep o meşhur cümle geliyor:
“Burası da Dingo’nun ahırı mı?”

Tarihin sokaklarından gelen bu deyim, dilimize yerleşip kalmış.
