A hundred years ago (in 1915), Ottoman soldiers entrusted these banknotes to Palestinian merchant, Ragheb Hilmi Alul when they were retreating from Palestine and said:
"When we come back, we will take our money".
Since then, the Al-Alul family has been keeping these banknotes, as the soldiers never returned.
