Lisa Loring, the original actress to play Wednesday Addams in the first screen adaptation of ‘The Addams Family’ series, has died from a stroke at the age of 64.
Loring died on January 28 after being taken off life support, her friend Laure Jacobson shared on Facebook, adding that she “was in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams.”
Loring took on the role of Wednesday Addams at the age of five, bringing the character to the screen from 1964 to 1966 in the first adaptation of Charles Addams’ New Yorker cartoons.
Her performance as Wednesday, with her gothic look and classic pigtails, has greatly influenced later depictions of the character.
