  • The Minaret of Jam
It is located in a remote and nearly inaccessible region of the Shahrak District, Ghor Province, next to the Hari River, Afghanistan.

The word minaret is Arabic [منارة] and it means lighthouse and also means the tower next to a mosque from which the muezzin calls the faithful to prayer.

The 65metre (213 ft) high minaret was built around 1190.

Covered in elaborate brickwork with a blue tile inscription at the top, it is noteworthy for the quality of its architecture and decoration, which represent the culmination of an architectural and artistic tradition in this region.

•The Minaret of Jam belongs to a group of around 60 minarets and towers built between the 11th and the 13th centuries in Central Asia, Iran and Afghanistan.

•The archaeological site of Jam was successfully nominated as Afghanistan's first World Heritage site in 2002.

•It was also inscribed in UNESCO's list of World Heritage in Danger.

•In 2014, the BBC reported that the tower was in imminent danger of collapse.

Emirdağ nüfus kütüğünde 4 no’lu sırada kayda geçen bu aile, 1934’te çıkartılan soyadı kanunu gereği “Urfalı” soyadını alır.

•Nemrut Dağ or Mount Nemrut is the Hierotheseion (temple-tomb and house of the gods) built by the late Hellenistic King Antiochos I of Commagene (69-34 B.C) as a monument to himself.

•He built tomb-sanctuary flanked by huge statues 8–9-metre high (26–30 ft) of himself, two lions, two eagles and various Greek and Iranian gods, such as Heracles-Artagnes-Ares, Zeus-Oromasdes, and Apollo-Mithras-Helios-Hermes.

•It is one of the most ambitious constructions of the Hellenistic period.
•The heads of the statues have fallen off or removed!

  • Aspendos Roman theatre
•Located in Antalya province of Turkey.

•It is carved out of one of the sides of the hill and was designed by the Roman architect Zeno.

•The theater was built in honor of the famous emperor Marcus Aurelius, who ruled from 161 to 180 AD.

•There are 39 rows of seats and it could hold about 20,000 spectators.

•The two-story stage building is particularly impressive and, like most of the theatre, has been exceptionally well preserved.

•Today the Aspendos Theatre is still used for wrestling, live music concerts or dance shows.
